A Merry Yorkshire Christmas

A veritable feast on the train from London north - the raid in M&S was however well deserved, after a 3 1/2 hour  flight in an absolutely jam packed JAT plane from Beograd to Heathrow!

Early Sunday morning, well wrapped up against the elements, venturing out on the Masham Leaves walk.

Überall Wasser ... Every where water! As dry the Serbian summer 2012 has been, as wet has been the English summer, and keeps continuing! Lets hope for a better and more balanced 2013!

...and the occasional patch of mud! But rosaroti Gummistiefeli held well, just as real Wellingtons!

Moles hard at work, and we even saw one pushing the earth out of the ground. Grandpa Robert on one night then explained to Ella Tili and Mama how to set the mole traps - he is a real expert in this, and always catches them when asked to do so in neighbors gardens!

Christmas morning Prosecco! Papa has smuggled it into our luggage from Beograd! A real treat together with smoked Scottish salmon!

Christmas Dinner with Grandma and Grandpa at Deborah's and John's.

And what a dinner it was! Turkey, bacon wrapped sausages, four different types of vegetables, roasted and mashed potatoes, plus three different sauces! It was delicious!

The Celebrity Chefs that created the feast!

And the Little Lady with the Cow Hat - a present of Deborah, John, Natalie & Alistair - who helped eat everything.

Which of the cousins will be the Swiss Memory champion? ET in yet another present of Deborah, John, Natalie & Alistair: a beautiful Zebra on her new jumper to be spotted!

Back on the Leaves walk surrounding Masham village. The alternative walks we did led us to restored wetlands with hundreds of overwintering Canada and pink footed geese, Hackfall Wood which in Victorian times has been shaped into a huge park, and even more amazing, an imitation of Druids Temple, also originating from Victorian times, to keep workers occupied and the rich entertained! "Follies" such landscaped forests and imitated ancient graves are called in English!

The Roman shrine along the Leaves walk - like everybody else, ET left some money, however first removed the chocolate from inside!

In memoria of O-papa! Mama's fine first attempt at the Christmas Pastete - prepared for our farewell evening from the Yorkshire Dales. The taste came up to O-Papa's standards, however not yet the decoration!

Prima Ballerina! And she kept the nerve dancing in front of the entire clan!

The Memory Championships continues!

Grandparents & Grandchildren.

The Usual Suspects! It has been a great week up in the Yorkshire Dales once again!
